Tray Utes

An open tray, proper tie-down points and nothing to stop you loading from any side. The vehicle tradies hire when the load is dirty, awkward, or simply won't fit in a van.

Ute hire

One tonne open tray with drop sides — load it from any side, and load it long.

Load it with a forklift, a wheelbarrow or your hands — an open tray takes what a van's back doors won't. Green waste, timber lengths, wet materials and site gear all go on without a second thought.

Book a Ute

Ute or van?

Same licence, same rough size — very different jobs.

Take the ute

Anything dirty, wet, oversized or awkward. Soil, rubble, green waste, long timber, garden equipment. You can also load it with a forklift from the side, which you can't do with a van.

The trade-off: it's open, so nothing is locked away or out of the weather.

Take the van

Anything that needs to stay dry, secure or out of sight. Parcels, tools you're leaving overnight, boxed goods, furniture and flat-pack.

The trade-off: everything has to fit through the back or side doors.

Running an ABN?

Contractors hiring on an ABN get an ongoing 10% off, and long-term arrangements save up to 25% off the base rate. Every hire comes with a GST invoice made out to your business, so it goes straight into the books.

Common questions

Yes — green waste and general tip runs are one of the most common reasons people hire the ute. Please sweep the tray out before you return it; there's a cleaning charge for vehicles that come back with soil or rubble still in them.
Towing isn't included as standard and towing with our vehicles needs to be arranged and approved in advance. Ring us before you book if you're planning to tow, so we can confirm what's available and what the agreement covers.
The tray has fixed tie-down points but straps and tarps aren't supplied as standard. Load restraint is the driver's legal responsibility, so bring your own or ask us when booking and we'll tell you what we can put aside.
One tonne of payload — that's roughly a cubic metre of wet soil, or a full pallet of pavers. Overloading is both illegal and a breach of the rental agreement, so if you're near the limit, step up to a tray truck.
Not sure a ute is enough? Which truck do I need? shortlists by load and licence, and what size truck for a house move has the cubic-metre maths.

Bigger tray,
same idea.

Tray trucks run a 4.5 metre deck on a car licence, or 5.5 metres on an MR.
