Cartrex Rentals is the vehicle-hire side of the Cartrex family. Cars to tautliners, one depot in Hoppers Crossing, and a phone that gets answered by someone who knows what's actually in the yard.

Most hire companies in Melbourne are set up around the airport and the CBD. That works if you're flying in. It doesn't work if you're a removalist in Werribee, a courier in Laverton or a builder in Tarneit who needs a truck at seven in the morning.
We operate out of Hoppers Crossing, in the middle of where our customers actually work. No airport surcharges, no trek across town before the job starts, and a fleet chosen around what the west hires — trucks and vans far more than convertibles.
We're the vehicle-hire arm of the broader Cartrex business, alongside our logistics side. That's why the fleet leans commercial: it was assembled by people who move freight for a living, not by a rental chain guessing at demand.

Who hires from us
A fair share of our work is somebody moving house on a Saturday, and we're set up for that — the 4.5 tonne truck exists precisely so a person with an ordinary licence can shift a whole flat in one go.
The rest is trade. Couriers on weekly vans, removalist crews booking tailgate-lifter pantechs for their run days, tradies taking tray utes on an ABN, rideshare drivers on monthly cars, and freight operators running curtain-siders. Each one wants something different, which is why we set them up differently.
