People Movers

Eight seats for the family trip, twelve for the crew. Both drive on a normal car licence, both are automatic, and both put everyone in one vehicle instead of three.

People mover hire

Eight and twelve seats, sliding doors and a full-size boot — and a car licence covers both.

Eight or twelve?

Seats are only half the question — luggage is the other half.

Take the 8 seater

Families and small groups who want a vehicle that drives like a large car. Lower roofline, fits most domestic garages and car park height limits, quieter on the freeway.

The trade-off: with all eight seats occupied, boot space is closer to a sedan's than a van's.

Take the 12 seater

Crews, teams and larger groups. The high roof means you stand up inside to load, and there's real luggage room behind the back row even when every seat is taken.

The trade-off: it's tall. Check the clearance on any car park you're planning to use.

Moving people and gear?

If the group is large and the luggage is larger, a lot of customers pair a people mover with a cargo van rather than squeezing everything into one vehicle. Ask us and we'll price the pair together.

12 seater commuter van

Common questions

No. A 12 seater commuter is built to stay under the threshold that would require a light rigid licence, so a full Australian car licence covers it. Probationary and overseas licence holders should ring us first to confirm eligibility.
Both vehicles have factory child restraint anchor points. We don't supply the seats themselves, so bring your own or hire them from a child restraint specialist — fitting them is straightforward once you're at the depot.
Interstate travel needs to be agreed before you collect the vehicle so we can sort the kilometre allowance and confirm the insurance covers it. Let us know the route when you book.
The 8 seater takes roughly a boot's worth — a few soft bags rather than eight hard suitcases. The 12 seater has a genuine luggage bay behind the rear row. If in doubt, tell us the group size and bag count and we'll tell you honestly whether it will fit.
A twelve-seat commuter still sits inside a standard car licence — what licence do I need? maps every class in the fleet to the licence that covers it.

or more space?

If it's cargo rather than people, the van range starts at $85 a day.
