Van or moving truck?

Where the line falls for most jobs.

Take the 1 tonne van

Parcel and pallet-less courier work, a studio or single-room move, trade tools you want locked away overnight. Under about 8 m³.

Take the 2 tonne van

Bulky but light loads, a one-bedroom flat, or a courier round with tall items. Roughly 12 m³ and you can stand up to pack it properly.

Step up to a truck

Anything over about 15 m³, or furniture that needs a ramp. Our 4.2 m pantech holds 20 m³ and is still a car licence.

On the road every day?

Full-time couriers and contractors shouldn't be paying a daily rate. Long-term hire takes up to 25% off the base rate, and ABN contractors get an ongoing 10% on top of that — with GST invoicing that goes straight into your books.

Common questions

No. Both cargo vans sit under 4.5 tonnes GVM, so a standard Victorian car licence covers them. They're taller and longer than a car though — mind low car parks and drive-throughs.
Yes, both van classes are automatic. If you specifically need a manual, ring us and we'll tell you what's in the yard.
The load space locks and is separated from the cab, which is why tradies prefer a van to a ute. That said, the vehicle is your responsibility while it's on hire — check what your own tool insurance covers, as our cover is on the vehicle, not its contents.
Tie-down points are fitted in every van. Trolleys and blankets aren't standard — ask when you book and we'll tell you what we can put aside for you.
